Christmas gin ideas to make it a merry one

NB Christmas drinks

At NB Gin we love to get into the festive spirit (no pun intended… okay maybe a little bit), so we thought it was right on time to give you our favourite Christmas gin cocktails and serves.

NB Gin, in our humble opinion, is simply perfect as a G&T or neat, or perhaps with some ice. Our perfect NB Gin serve is with Fever-Tree Tonic, lots of ice and orange or grapefruit to garnish. But at Christmas time you must get a little creative, don’t you think?

Autumn dishes for your gin-fuelled evenings

NB Gin Forth Bridge

The weather is cooling, leaves are falling and the thermostat is slowly making its way up… hello again autumn!

Autumn means woolly knitwear, hot drinks and crisp mornings. But what about the gin, we hear you say.

Well, there’s really no need to panic because no cold weather will hinder your opportunity to enjoy a refreshing gin!

To adjust your preferences whilst keeping gin in mind, we came up with a few foody ideas to get you into the autumnal mood.

Spaghetti squash

Spaghetti squash

We’re all about making food simple and delicious and at this time of year you can’t go past spaghetti squash.

It’s the perfect autumnal dinner and it’ll tickle your taste buds, warm you up and is a perfect match for a cheeky NB Gin & Tonic.

To make your super healthy squash just that little bit naughty, add a pinch of salt and pepper, a dash of pumpkin puree and a tad of butter.

Parma ham parcel

A savoury sensation

Looking for more of a nibble than a full dish? Well look no further than the crisp botanical taste of our gin with three mini bites.

First is a delicious mini parcel of soft cheese, rocket and pesto wrapped in Parma ham. Quick and simple, it’s one of those treats that tastes like it took ages to make.

To accompany this tantalising parcel, try a mini game pie filled with cubes of tender venison in a rich gravy with golden pastry. Got your taste buds going yet?

The third mini bite is a roasted acorn squash and garlic mash! Acorns and squash scream autumn, which makes this little delight perfect right now.

Pear-ific pudding

Gin goes surprisingly well with sweet treats and this fruity delight will make a fabulous autumn pairing.

Cinnamon poached pears are juicy and succulent and the sweetness of the cinnamon complements the understated tones of our gin.

Autumn garnishes to top off your gin

Rosemary

This versatile herb is just perfect for adding to your gin & tonic. The heady aroma enhances your favourite drink just that little bit more and prepares your taste buds before you even taste the gin itself! It also adds a powerful taste of a fragrant botanical tone.

Cinnamonum verum

Cinnamon stick

Cinnamon will make many appearances during the autumn thanks to its traditional association with this time of year, so why not add it to your gin? The sweet flavours of cinnamon exploring the sharper tones of the gin will create a sensation in your mouth.

Spiced apple

Another classic autumnal treat which will make a perfect garnish for your gin is spiced apple.

We know cinnamon works well with gin but cinnamon on apple in gin, well it’s just bloody perfect!

The cinnamon again adds the initial spicy tone, contrasted with the sweet crisp apple. Bring your refreshing NB Gin to this autumn party and you’ve created something truly spectacular!
