NB Gin is to celebrate its association with the BRIT Awards by serving music’s biggest stars from hand-etched BRIT-inspired bottles created by a designer from her home studio in a Scottish village.
NB Gin will be a drinks sponsor at the official Sony BRIT Awards after-party in London for the third year in a row. Stars at the glittering bash will enjoy five-star treatment at a secret upmarket venue and NB Gin’s hand-etched bottles will be served to the celebrity A-listers.
The bottles, hand-etched by East Lothian-based professional glassware designer Lydia Macdonald display a BRITs-inspired ‘B’ on the front with a sophisticated ‘limited edition’ message on the side.
Co-founder of NB Gin, Viv Muir, expressed her pleasure in the subtle but eye catching designs: “To be a drinks partner of the BRITS after-party three years in a row is fantastic.’’
“We really wanted to celebrate it in style this year so we decided to etch a limited edition design on to 24 of our bottles. A dozen will be served at the party and we’ll be giving away some to our lucky fans on social media.’’
“In a climate of gin frenzy with so many new brands popping up, NB continues to be the gin of choice for the highest end events and establishments across the world.”
The one-off NB Gin commissioned designs take approximately two hours per bottle to etch.
The bottles will be on display at the BRITs on brightly-lit shelves to highlight the sophistication of the brand.
Viv continues: “The journey that we’ve been on with NB Gin been phenomenal. When we first started out, we were experimenting with botanicals using an old pressure cooker in our kitchen. Now, NB is recognised as one of the world’s finest gins and we even have the award to prove it.
“Being selected for events like the BRITs, for the third year in a row, really does make all the hard work worthwhile and shows how respected the brand is on a world stage.
“The limited edition bottles look fabulous and we’re thrilled to be sharing a little bit of our home with all our favourite musicians and friends alike.”
Lydia Macdonald works from her home studio in Pencaitland, East Lothian, and has produced designs for many A-list clients, including a hand-etched jug for a Royal wedding. She has also worked with the likes of Chef Michael Smith, House of Bruar and Johnstons of Elgin.
NB Gin was launched by lawyers Viv and Steve Muir from North Berwick in 2013. The craft gin quickly built up a reputation as one of Scotland’s finest gins and was championed by renowned party architect to the stars Johnny Roxburgh.
