NB Gin – the North Berwick-based London Dry which was voted the world’s best in 2015 – and NB Vodka – the world’s first London Dry Citrus Vodka – was served to high society at the lavish Houghton Hall last night (June 22nd).
The £10,000-a-head invitation-only bash saw 80 VIPs descend on the stately home of the Marquess and Marchioness of Cholmondeley and was in aid of the East Anglia Children’s Hospice, a charity which the Duchess of Cambridge became a patrol of in 2012.
NB Gin is now one of the most revered gins in the world having been served at a host of exclusive events including the Sony BRIT Awards After Party.
The Scottish gin – founded by husband and wife Steve and Viv Muir – was also included in the Rolls-Royce Enthusiasts’ Club 2016 Yearbook, which celebrates the best in design and luxury living.
To add to the impressive list of accolades, NB Gin was also the only gin to be included in a commemorative Royal book – The Queen At 90.
NB Vodka is the world’s first London Dry Citrus Vodka and was launched by the distillery after the massive success of its gin.
CEO of NB Gin Viv Muir said: “This is another proud moment for us. For our gin to be chosen for such an exclusive event really is quite an honour and it’s further evidence of how far the brand has come in a short space of time.
“The last couple of years in particular have been incredible for us and it’s such a wonderful thing to see the brand we created in our kitchen in North Berwick being part of some of the glitziest events in the world.”
Tickets for the fundraising gala started at £6,000 but guests who opted to stay at the stately home after the bash forked out up to £10,000.
As well as the award-winning NB Gin, guests were treated to a five-star menu from top chefs including Tom Kerridge and a lecture by acclaimed English novelist Anthony Horowitz.
NB Gin is now stocked in high-end hotels, bars, shops and restaurants across the UK and globally with strong sales in the U.S., Australia, France, Spain, Germany, Denmark and Belgium, Hong Kong, China and Canada.
NB Gin won the World’s Best London Dry Gin category at The World Drinks Awards in 2015 following three rounds of judging by an international panel of experts.
It’s described as “superb” by Johnny Roxburgh, Royal Warrant holder and party architect to the global elite.
NB Gin is made at NB Distillery Ltd, and the retail price in the UK per 70cl bottle is from £28.50.
The spirit is stilled, blended, bottled and labelled by hand in small batches, to ensure that every bottle is absolutely perfect. It’s made from pure British grain spirit and a blend of eight botanicals, all of which have been meticulously selected to produce a smooth and balanced flavour which is not overly complicated. The still itself was custom built in London and installed in North Berwick by the oldest gin makers in the world.
NB London Dry Citrus Vodka is the world’s first London Dry Citrus Vodka, perfected by NB – distillers of the world’s best London Dry gin.
Where others add a concentrated flavour at the end, the exacting and meticulous London Dry process distils the botanicals naturally to create pure, elegant and subtle citrus tones.
